Banexport S.A. – a coffee development company – is the creation of Colombian brothers Julian and Jairo Ruiz, who, enlisting the (ever-present) administrative support of their mother, Josefina Hurtado, set the foundations of the enterprise in the spring of 2005. Just two years later Mario Orozco and Pablo Alzate, long-term friends and skilled, experienced businessmen, saw great potential in the project and decided to join the team as important shareholders of the company.

 

The inception, however, of an enterprise dedicated to the pursuit of a superior cup of coffee had arguably already been two generations in the making…
